The nation's chief intelligence official warned Thursday that a new president's first year in office is the most perilous time for the country.
"I would say the period of most vulnerability for the United States is the first year of a new president," Director of National Intelligence Mike McConnell told an annual conference of intelligence officials and contractors in Nashville, Tennessee, on Thursday.
McConnell cited the attack on the World Trade Center shortly after Bill Clinton took over the presidency in 1993 and the September 11, 2001, attacks on New York and Washington, which occurred less than eight months after George W. Bush took the oath of office.

I read the last part of this article with great interest....

" McConnell said the president-elect's excitement "is going to be dampened somewhat when he begins to focus on the realities of the myriad of changes and challenges we are going to face in the future." One of those "challenges" include the prospect of an attack by a biological agent, which he said might "create casualties greater than 9/11."

Actor Charlie Sheen has confirmed that he will be narrating the feature version of a YouTube video on the infamous 9/11 incident, which shows how shadowy government officials might have used explosives to blow the World Trade Center.

"It's a story that needs to be told. It's a story about the truth, and the truth needs to be exposed," the New York Post quoted him as telling 'Extra'.

"It's not just me, not just the Hollywood community [who] is standing up saying what you have given us doesn't make sense. We just want better answers," said the 'Two and a Half Men' star.

'Loose Change', the video, supports the 'controlled demolition theory' according to which the Twin Towers and 7 World Trade Center were blown from within.

Written and directed by Dylan Avery, the video alleges that the fire that jet fuel caused inside the buildings was not hot enough to melt the steel beams of the towers.

However, the claims made in this video have been laughed at by the makers another video, entitled 'Screw Loose Change', and refuted by Popular Mechanics magazine.

As anyone who spends much time trolling conspiracy theory websites knows, 9/11 has become the JFK assassination for a new generation. Naturally, there is considerable dissent among the 'truth movement' types about the particulars. Some believe a commercial airliner struck the Pentagon on 9/11, others contend it was a missile. But most are in agreement that the dark conspiracy has links to the Bush White House.
Then there is retired Northwest Airlines pilot Field McConnell. McConnell, who lives in rural Glyndon, Minnesota, claims that another 9/11 attack is imminent, Muslim terrorists are scapegoats, and that commercial airliners have been rigged with 'Improvised Killing Devices.'
McConnell, who is currently suing Northwest on the grounds that the airline cannot guarantee the safety of its passengers, writes on his website that Northwest 'implied he was crazy be asking him to undergo psychiatric tests.'
Although McConnell does not provide full details on his theories about 9/11 (that will be fourth coming '9/11 Solved' DVD), he intimates that the plot has connections to Hillary Clinton and the Rose Law Firm.
McConnell, who could not be reached for comment, did issue a warning to the 'treasonous traitorous cowards' behind the plan, writing: 'Take a look at who is pursuing you and is in position to send a skinny little heat seeker up your great big tailpipes.'"

LONDON A British judge demanded Monday that those who believe Princess Diana and her boyfriend Dodi Fayed were murdered should show her the evidence, and said she may delay an inquest into their deaths until October.

The long-awaited inquest could also hear testimony about Diana's alleged fears for her life, the significance of a ring purchased by Fayed, and whether the princess was pregnant, lawyers said during preliminary hearings at London's High Court.

After originally declaring she would be extremely reluctant to delay the inquest's May 8 start date, Baroness Elizabeth Butler-Sloss, a retired judge overseeing the proceedings, conceded the demands of lawyers and witnesses could lead to a postponement. The inquest could last as long as eight months.

Monday's hearings were procedural, with arguments over everything from the suitability of the courtroom to the use of computer virtual reality in reconstructing the crash."
