UFO Sightings - Foo Fighters

No...not the Seattle rock band.
Foo Fighters were what World War II Allied aviators called UFOs.
This was a little before Kenneth Arnold and his "saucers".
Actually the first "formal" report was in 1944...and things really picked up speed after that.

The official story was that the highly trained pilots were mistaken.
These weird lights in the sky were light reflecting off ice crystals, St. Elmo's fire, or some other type of electromagnetic weirdness.
One of these lights reflecting off ice crystals chased a fighter plane from the 415th Night Fighter Squadron through a series of complicated aerial maneuvers as the plane tried to lose the "ice crystals" which finally veered off and left.
A member of the Squadron gave the "phenomena" the name "foo fighters" from the Smokey Stover cartoon strip popular at the time.
Actually he added a word before foo fighter...but we don’t use that word in polite company.

This "St. Elmo's fire" was busy.
Round balls of light were chasing planes all over Germany.
And these lights could not be outrun or shot down.
The pilots even started referring to them as "kraut fireballs" because they were convinced they were secret German weapons.
But...it turns out the German and Japanese pilots were running into the same thing, thinking they were ours.
All these experienced fighter pilots confused by a simple phenomena.
Sad isn’t it?

UFO Sightings - The 1956 Drakensberg UFOs

One of the best set of UFO pictures (or one of the best set of fake UFO pictures) were those taken by UFO Contactee Elizabeth Klarer.
On July 24, 1956, Elizabeth took a whole series of UFO shots near the town of Rosetta in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa, near the Drakensburg Mountains.

She could do this because her intergalactic space lover Akon swung his ship in close enough for her to.
Yes...her alien contact was her boyfriend.
She claimed that he took her to his planet, and they did the deed and four months later little Ayling was born.
Then he flew her back to Earth and Ayling stayed on the planet to be trained in the alien ways and someday to return to Earth to help us make this a better place to live.
Well that was 60 years ago Ayling...you might wanna step it up while there is still an Earth to come and save.

Despite the farfetched story, the pictures were pretty good.
Remember...in 1956 there was no photoshop.

Now you can take this story for what it is worth.
But African MUFON representative and UFO researcher Cynthia Hind claims to have found several eyewitnesses to the sighting when the pictures were made.
I have not seen anywhere that the photos have been analyzed.

Are Pyramids The New UFO?

Have Pyramids become the new UFO shape?
Or are all the hoaxers just jumping on the bandwagon?

On YouTube there are videos of pyramid shaped UFOs from Moscow, China, England and Mexico.
It appears the saucer is dead now.
Okay I know not all the shapes are exactly pyramids.
Some are more like octahedrons, but you see what I mean.

And yes, looking at it with a skeptical eye, you can find all kinds of reasonable explanations for these.
Kites, balloons CGI etc.

But what sticks in the back of my mind is that when I saw the plane hit that tower on 9/11, all I could think was,"That looks fake, like it came out of a movie".

But why pyramids now?
Is it some kind of Stargate references?
I'm no CGI expert, but wouldn't a saucer shape be easier to fake than a pyramid?

I notice we haven't had one over New York City yet.

And that's another point.
With something that massive just hovering there, wouldn't there be thousands of pictures and cell phone videos from different angles?

Maybe not.
Last year I watched a white triangle hover in the sky for about 5 minutes while I was standing in a Wal-Mart parking lot.
It was clear as day, and I just stood there looking up at it while peole filed past on foot and drove by me, not a single one looking up to see what I was looking at.
To this day I have no idea what it was...but it was triangular.
And no, my cell doesn't have a camera.

But wouldn't interceptors be scrambled?
Unless of course the object was cloaked to radar.
Then all they would get is a bunch of confused phone calls to the local police.
The police might respond, see it and call it into the proper authorities, but by then, the object would probably be long gone.

Of course all of these might be faked.
Until something lands and we all see it, I'm not going one way or the other too hard.

But here are the videos from all over the world with Pyramids.....

Popular Mechanics and UFOs

Popular Mechanics bothers me.
Yeah I know it's almost an American institution, but has anyone noticed how they seem to jump on the debunking bandwagon every time they get a chance?
First it was 9/11 and now UFOs.
PM seems to be almost vehemently opposed to anyone questioning the US Government about anything.
And if you do, you're a nut case of just an idiot.

Case in point is their new article debunking the NASA shuttle UFO videos....

"The scenario goes like this: Its 1996; you're an astronaut and you're looking at a UFO. This is quite possibly the biggest, most game-changing scientific discovery in the history of mankind. And here you are, gliding through space in low Earth orbit, watching this alien craft dance around your video camera's viewfinder. You are not alone—there are other astronauts onboard the space shuttle, and mission control is watching the live feed from Houston. Yet not a single raised voice or mention of ETs or UFOs can be heard on the audio of this recording. Apparently, it's just another routine brush with extraterrestrial life, and another day in the life of a massive, decades-long, multiagency coverup. "
http://www.popularmechanics.com/science/air_space/4319637.html

It's good to see that at least the commenters are keeping an open mind.
And even calling PM to task about their across the board debunking.

The recent article is almost as good as their past "6 Top-Secret Aircraft that are Mistaken for UFOs"
http://www.popularmechanics.com/science/air_space/4304207.html?series=74

Yep, I'd mistake a F-117A Nighthawk for a black triangle the length of a football field or bigger.

And the Phoenix lights were military flares no matter that former Arizona Governor Fife Symington III said....

" I'm a pilot and I know just about every machine that flies. It was bigger than anything that I've ever seen. It remains a great mystery. Other people saw it, responsible people. I don't know why people would ridicule it."

"It was enormous and inexplicable. Who knows where it came from? A lot of people saw it, and I saw it too. It was dramatic. And it couldn't have been flares because it was too symmetrical. It had a geometric outline, a constant shape."

"As a pilot and a former Air Force Officer, I can definitively say that this craft did not resemble any man made object I'd ever seen. And it was certainly not high-altitude flares because flares don't fly in formation."

Give us something better than flares and 69 foot long plane.

UFO files: photographs of 'UFO next to RAF jet' - Telegraph

UFO files: photographs of 'UFO next to RAF jet' - Telegraph:

"Photographs taken of a UFO hovering next to an RAF jet over Scotland were treated very seriously by military investigators, newly-released Ministry of Defence files showed today.

Witnesses saw the mysterious large diamond-shaped object hanging in the air for about 10 minutes before it ascended vertically at high speed.

Military experts concluded the aircraft was a Harrier, but could not identify the UFO despite apparently commissioning detailed line drawings of it."

The Voronezh, Russia UFO Landing

Now some people may call UFO incidents outlandish.
But what about an event in which a ship lands in front of witnesses, a nine foot tall alien gets out accompanied by a robot (Klaatu barada nikto!) and the alien sees a young boy and disintegrates him with a ray gun?
Yep it sounds like a B movie from the 50s, but this alleged encounter took place in Voronezh, Russia on September 27, 1989.
Why didn't we hear about it?
Well we did kinda, the account was actually carried in America by the St. Louis Dispatch, on October 11, 1989. The article was titled "Strange Tale of the 3-Eyed Alien That Zapped a Boy!"
They got it from the Russian newspaper Tass.
Where did Tass get it?
They got it from Genrikh Silanov, head of the Voronezh Geophysical Laboratory.
But he says that the Russian newspaper took liberties with the story that he related.
So here we have a case of what is a cover up and what is so unverifiable that there's no point publishing it.

If you'd like to see a VERY in-depth study of the case, both pro and con, go here

UFO Sightings and Crashes, Part 2

More UFO sightings and crashes from before 1947......

1916 a UK pilot near Rochford reported a row of lights, like lighted windows on a railway carriage, that rose and disappeared.

1923 Quetta, Pakistan: no details, but I did find what could be an interesting link..."Flying Officer Desmond Reginald Loch. RAF. Beloved son of Colonel and Mrs. H.F. Loch. Born 27 Feb. 1901. Killed flying near Quetta 7 April 1923." Let the Conspiracy Experts have at it.

1925 Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA: Mysterious fireball explodes just outside Chevy Chase.

1925 Sept/Oct Polson, Montana: alleged crash.

1926, a pilot reported six "flying manhole covers" between Wichita, Kansas and Colorado Springs, Colorado.

1926, an airmail pilot over Nevada was forced to land by a huge, wingless cylindrical object.

1926, while traveling in the Humboldt Mountains of Tibet's Kokonor region, Nicholas Roerich reported that members of his expedition saw "something big and shiny reflecting sun, like a huge oval moving at great speed".

1930 Mandurah, West Australia: In 1982 a 67 year old woman saw a picture of "ET", Steven Spielberg's cute alien creation. It made her think of an experience she had as a 15 year old girl, near the estuary at Mandurah, Western Australia. She supplied a report to the Perth UFO Research Group which stated: "(In 1930 I was) sitting reading with my parents in a humpy, on a block in Mandurah, in Greary Rd, by the light of a hurricane lamp, with the door partly open. The time (was) about 8 pm as we went to bed early.
"A little pink creature walked in. (It was) about 24 inches in height (with) large ears, big bulbous eyes, covered with a film, small hands, large feet, slit of a mouth, no hair, and shiny as if wet or oily. "We were terrified and my father went white and being a religious man said it was the work of the devil. "Picking up a prawning net, he picked it up in it and it made a noise like 'EE...EE' and my father put it outside.
We never saw it again and went to bed feeling very scared. This was in 1930 and I never thought any more about it until I saw a picture of 'ET,' although only its eyes were the same. ... It did not have a round body, more straight down like a child's body. (It's shape was) like an elf."

1933 Italy: in 1933, Mussolini had gathered together the greater part of scientists headed by G. Marconi and maybe formed the first worldwide secret organization for exploration of the UFO phenomena. The organization was active from 1933 to 1940 and they gathered many documents and pictures.

1936 Black Forest, Germany: A German writer, John Von Helsing, describes the discovery of a crashed saucer in the Black Forest, near Freiburg, in 1936 and says that this technology was taken and combined with the information the Vril Society had received through channeling and was made into a further project called the Haunebu.

1938 summer Czernica, Poland: near the two villages of Czernica and Kopaniec in the Góry Kaczawskie Mts., in Jelenia Góra Province, a strange incident occurred. Their inhabitants noticed an odd, disc-shaped UFO, which dropped from the sky. After that, the SS troops from the Jelenia Góra garrison came and brought the disc to Jelenia Góra town, where it was been examined by three Nazi German scientists: Prof. Max von Laue, Prof. Wernher von Heisenberg and Prof. Otto Hahn. Next that UFO was delivered either to the special Institute in Berlin - Dahlem, or to the top secret underground facility in the Góry Sowie Mts. The legend says that the Germans worked on the Nazi A-bomb there. Finally in 1944/45 they constructed the disc-shaped plane better known as the V-7 Vril or Haunebu , Hitler's miraculous weapon.

1941 West of San Diego, Ca: Dr. Wolf provided a revisionist history about the beginning of the modern UFO era. "The first UFO came down in 1941 into the ocean west of San Diego, and was retrieved by the Navy." The Navy has held a leadership position in UFO matters ever since.

1941 Spring Cape Girardeau, Missouri: Reverend William Huffman, who was pastor of the Red Star Baptist Church, claimed that he was summoned to pray over crash victims outside of Cape Girardeau, Missouri in 1941.

1941 July 4 Tinian Island, Oceania: alleged crash.

UFO Sightings and Crashes, Part 1

If you think that UFO sightings, crashes and cover ups are a recent thing, think again.
If it is a conspiracy, it's a far reaching one.
I like these old accounts because they can't be explained away as satellites, weather balloons, military testing etc.
I got these accounts from all over the web, but some of the best links I'm gonna list at the end.

1864 September Cadotte Pass: about the middle of last September, James Lumley was engaged in trapping in the mountains, about seventy-five or one hundred miles above the great falls of the Upper Missouri, and in the neighborhood of what is known as Cadotte Pass. Just after sunset one evening he beheld a bright, luminous body in the heavens, which was moving with a great rapidity in an easterly direction. It was plainly visible for at least five seconds, when it suddenly separated into particles, resembling, as Mr. Lumley described it, the bursting of a skyrocket in the air. A few minutes later he heard a heavy explosion, which jarred the earth very perceptibly, and this was shortly after followed by a rumbling sound, like a tornado sweeping through the forest. A strong wind sprang up about the same time, but as suddenly subsided. The air was also filled with a peculiar odor of a sulphurous character.

1878 January 25 The Denison Daily News wrote that local farmer John Martin had reported seeing a large, dark, circular flying object resembling a balloon flying "at wonderful speed." Martin also said it appeared to be about the size of a saucer, the first known use of the word "saucer" in association with a UFO. If true, this would pre-date the Kenneth Arnold usage.

1882 November a UFO was observed by astronomer Edward Walter Maunder of the Greenwich Royal Observatory and some other European astronomers.

1884 June 6 Holdredge, Nebraska: Holdredge's weekly newspaper, the Nebraska Nugget published a story that had occurred to some cowboys from Dundy County, of a cylindrical object that crashed on the prairie and left bits of machinery and gear wheels behind, glowing from the heat.

1884 December 13 Sorisole, near Bergamo, Italy: a shining body came down from the sky crashing onto a field in Sorisole, near Bergamo

1897 April 17 Aurora, Texas, An alleged UFO crash and burial of alien pilot, possibly explained as a hoax.

1897 April 19 Leroy, Kansas, An account by Alexander Hamilton of Leroy, Kansas supposedly occurred about April 19, 1897, and was published in the Yates Center Farmer¹s Advocate of April 23. Hamilton, his son, and a tenant witnessed an airship hovering over his cattle pen. Upon closer examination, the witnesses realized that a red cable from the airship had lassoed a heifer, but had also become entangled in the pen's fence. After trying unsuccessfully to free the heifer, Hamilton cut lose a portion of the fence, then "stood in amazement to see the ship, cow and all rise slowly and sail off." Some have suggested this was the earliest report of cattle mutilation (In 1982, however, UFO researcher Jerome Clark debunked this story, and confirmed via interviews and Hamilton's own affidavit that the story was a successful attempt to win a Liar's Club competition to create the most outlandish tall tale).

1904, there was a sighting by three crew members on the USS Supply 300 miles west of San Francisco, reported by Lt. Frank Schofield, later to become Commander-in-Chief of the Pacific Battle Fleet.

1907 Burlington, Vermont, USA: The mid-air explosion of a UFO over Burlington, Vermont, on the eastern shore of Lake Champlain, is one of the strangest incidents of "the Airship Era" in ufology.

1908 June 30 Tunguska River, USSR, Large explosion, probably of a comet or meteoroid, sometimes explained as an explosion of an UFO.

1910/1915 Puglia Italy: alleged crashes.

Tentacle UFO In Britain, Not The First

The Tentacle UFO story out of Britain seems to be getting a lot of press.
When I read this article I realized this wasn't the first Tentacle UFO I remember reading about......
(Okay, actually my first thought was "It's a minion of Cthulhu!", but I got a grip.)

"Flying saucers, bright white lights and other strange objects have been seen flying above Reading, according to new files released by the Ministry of Defence (MoD)....And the eerie sightings do not stop there, with one person claiming he saw an object with approximately 300 tentacles somewhere in Reading."
http://www.getreading.co.uk/news/s/2028306_hot_spot_for_ufos__its_official

MEXICO, November 13, 2004 - The UFO most resembling an organic creature may have been recorded over Mexico as it expelled strange spheres from several tentacles.
Says Jaime Maussan: "On October 27, to be exact, a giant object was photographed and videotaped over Mexico City. It was very impressive and it launched spheres" with regard to the latest evidence to feed his alien hypothesis.

Adrian Dalton was in his back garden in Daventry with his son when he noticed two black objects in the sky at a distance. He assumed they were birds until they came closer. When he saw them at close range he noticed they were brown and they had a dark centre. They made a swishing sound and pulsated. He stated "They looked like two brown jellyfish and they were swimming in the sky."

Stephenville, Texas, UFO Sightings Part 2

Here we go again, it looks like Stephenville/Dublin Texas is having another UFO flap.
They still call them flaps don't they?
Anyway, the "Cowboy Capital of the World" may have to change it's name to the " UFO Capital of the World".

"Dozens of Stephenville and Erath County residents have reported unidentified lights in the Texas sky this week.
Recent accounts started coming in Tuesday, Oct. 21. More sitings were reported Wednesday night and a stadium full of parents watching a Junior High Football game spotted more strange lights Thursday night."
http://www.empiretribune.com/articles/2008/10/24/news/doc4901ecfe63c39602731678.txt

Over a three-month period this summer there were 1,000 UFO sightings filed with the National UFO Reporting Center.
Some 75 of those UFOs were reported over the state of Texas.

'Missile' Came Close to Passenger Jet in the UK?

Alitalia, UFO, ufo sighting

And here's another story of a near miss with a UFO in the UK.
I wonder how many similar events we'd find if our files were disclosed like other countries?

'Missile' came close to airliner
A passenger jet coming in to land at Heathrow had a near miss with a UFO, the MoD files revealed.
The Alitalia flight’s captain, Achille Zaghetti, was at 22,000ft when he saw the brown, 10ft-long, missile-shaped object 1,000ft above him.
He said: “At once I said, ‘Look out’ to my co-pilot, who looked and saw what I’d seen.”
Air traffic controllers also reported an unidentified object on their screens.
The incident in 1991 over Lydd, Kent, was investigated — but after ruling out a missile, weather balloon or space rocket, the MoD left the matter unsolved.
The unexplained close encounter with the Alitalia jet is one of many recounted in military UFO documents made available online today by the National Archives.
Pilot Mr Zaghetti added: “As soon as the object crossed us I asked to the ACC (area control centre) operator if he saw something on his screen and he answered 'I see an unknown target 10nm (nautical miles) behind you’.”
A CAA document notes that Southern TV broadcast a story about a 14-year-old boy who reported seeing a missile flying at low level before climbing through the cloud and disappearing on the same evening.
Radar images showing the UFO were initial labelled “cruise missile??” but it was quickly established that it was not a military weapon.
By July 2 the MoD had concluded that the object had not come from the Army firing ranges in the Lydd area and that there was no known “space-related activity” that night.
An unnamed Whitehall official wrote: “It is our intention to treat this sighting like that of any other Unidentified Flying Object and therefore we will not be undertaking any further investigation.”
There were, however, a number of other similar incidents recorded the same year.

F-86D Sabre versus UFO over the UK!

UFO, Norwich, F-86D Sabre

Now this is an interesting article.....

US pilot ordered to shoot down UFO over Norwich
A FORMER fighter pilot has told how he was ordered to shoot down a UFO the size of an aircraft carrier over England 50 years ago.
The encounter over Norwich is detailed in one of 19 files declassified by Britain's Ministry of Defense and released by the National Archives yesterday.
RAF controllers told US pilot Milton Torres to "lock on" and launch all 24 of his rockets over the city, The Sun reports.
http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,21985,24523730-5005961,00.html

The official report is also listed at the released UFO files - October 2008
http://ufos.nationalarchives.gov.uk/
It's file DEFE 24/1931/1 on that page.

Shooting down a UFO (the size of an aircraft carrier no less) over a populated area?
The idea that a F-86D Sabre could shoot down a UFO of that size?
Something just doesn't add up here.

Blossom Goodchild, UFOs, Freaking Out and Peter Gabriel

Wow...tomorrow is October 14th.
It could be just another day or the changing point of the human race.
Yeah I know, most people think its a bunch of hooey.
Will a huge spaceship(s) show up and hover for 72 hours?
If it does, will any of this I'm writing make any difference?
Nope.
Blossom Goodchild could go from relative obscurity to the most famous person in history in one day.
Or just another internet hoaxer.
If you get up tomorrow and see giant spaceships hovering over cities, you do realize that the "Freak Out Meter" will go well past 10.
We'll have to write 11 on it.
Disinformation?
Disclosure?
All pretty much gone in an instant.
To say things would change is a vast understatement.
Heck, this could technically be my last post.
And yes I pretty much am writing stream of consciousness today.
Maybe it's the Galactic Federation of Light primering my brain.....
: )

PS: NO FREAKING OUT!
I don't wanna hear any " Heaven's Gate" type crap outta this!
We stand and face whatever, if anything, that comes as one united force.
This would be the one time all of humanity is joined, not separated.

"Solsbury Hill", Peter Gabriel

Climbing up on Solsbury Hill
I could see the city light
Wind was blowing, time stood still
Eagle flew out of the night
He was something to observe
Came in close, I heard a voice
Standing stretching every nerve
Had to listen had no choice
I did not believe the information
(I) just had to trust imagination
My heart going boom boom boom
"Son," he said "Grab your things,
I've come to take you home."

It's not UFOs, it's geese....they think......

You know October 14th is getting closer and closer........

If you're a conspiracy theorist about UFOs, this one's for you.
The National Weather Service likes to scour radar images for every sign of a thunderstorm, a hurricane or a blizzard.
On Tuesday, they didn't find any of that.
Instead, they found images of a bunch of expanding circles.
The images look like every teen smoker in Wisconsin and Illinois learned how to blow smoke rings at the same time.
But it's not smokers or the invading extraterrestrial ship from the movie Independence Day.
It's some kind of bird taking flight at sunrise, most likely geese - they think.
http://www.jsonline.com/watch/?watch=1&date=10/2/2008&id=46989

You know most conspiracy people know all about the weird rings that show up on radar from time to time.
Heck, I've even caught a glimpse of them on the Weather Channels radar.

RAF radar chief: I saw UFO fleet

RAF radar chief: I saw UFO fleet

An RAF expert yesterday revealed how he tracked a whole fleet of “spaceships” on military radar — but the Ministry of Defence told him to keep quiet.
Wing Commander Alan Turner, 64, said colleagues sat stunned when 35 super-fast vessels appeared on their screens.
Wing Cmdr Turner, who was a chief operator of the RAF’s radar system for 29 years, said the craft were equally spaced and shot from 3,000ft to 60,000ft at almost 300mph.
Incredibly, every few seconds one of the UFOs would suddenly vanish from radar and be replaced by an identical vessel moments later.

Blossom Goodchild’s Predicted Mass UFO Sighting

Blossom Goodchild’s Predicted Mass UFO Sighting: Will it Force Disclosure to Occur?

Like wildfires in the Australian outback, rumors of an upcoming mass televised UFO sighting over American skies are taking the Internet by storm. Blossom Goodchild, an Aussie actress and author, has the international Ufology community on its ear with channeled information concerning the eminent appearance of a massive extraterrestrial spacecraft for October 14th, 2008. Calling themselves ‘The Federation of Light’, these Beings from another world have stated to Goodchild that they intend not only to make themselves known, but also to remain more or less in place for a full 72 hour period, thereby providing the media with ample opportunity to once and for all capture on film evidence that will silence the skeptics and debunkers forever. The predicted rendezvous point?
Alabama.

Hacker loses extradition appeal

BBC NEWS | UK | Hacker loses extradition appeal:

"A Briton accused of hacking into secret military computers has lost his appeal against extradition to the US.

Glasgow-born Gary McKinnon was said to be 'distraught' after losing the appeal to the European Court of Human Rights. He faces extradition within two weeks.

The unemployed man could face life in jail if convicted of accessing 97 US military and Nasa computers.

The 42-year-old admitted breaking into the computers from his London home but said he sought information on UFOs.

Mr McKinnon asked the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg to delay his extradition pending a full appeal to the court against his extradition but his application was refused.

He claimed the extradition would breach his human rights."

Now the Italian Air force is disclosing UFO info

NOW the Italian Air force is disclosing it's UFO documents online.
Seems to be a trend huh?
Is the world getting ready for full disclosure?
Or is this the way the Italian Air Force is getting the UFO fanatics to shut up?
Either way. Italy joins a growing list of countries opening up it's UFO case histories to the public.
BTW, the site is in Italian, so unless you can read Italian, you'll have to use a translator.
Good luck with that.....LOL

"Significant support for the testimony of multiple witnesses of a UFO seen near Stephenville Texas on January 8, 2008 came in the form of radar data recently released by the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA). Responding to a series of Freedom of Information requests by the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON), the FAA supplied 2.8 million radar returns from five sites covering the area where the UFO was sighted. A report by MUFON titled, “Special Research Report, Stephenville, Texas,” provided a detailed analysis of raw data released by the FAA. The authors of the MUFON Stephenville Report, Glen Schulze and Robert Powell, stated: “data was obtained that indicates unidentified aircraft without transponder beacons which were not military jets, were found in the same compass direction and time frame as cited by the witnesses (Stephenville Report, p. 5).”"
