Real Super Powers

I REALLY want psychic powers to be real.
I've been into comics and science fiction and paranormal since literally before I could read.
(Yes they had books back then, it wasn't stone tablets)
Do you have any idea how bad I wanted people like David Copperfield, David Blain, Uri Geller, Chris Angel etc to be real?
This is why I followed Andy Pero and "The Being" that posted here with such interest.

I love the idea that Grant Morrison has stated, that in the near future, super beings will appear.
People with pyrokinesis, telekinesis, super strength...yes actual "Heroes".
And that may have already started happening.....

Liam Hoekstra was hanging upside down by his feet when he performed an inverted sit-up, his shirt falling away to expose rippled abdominal muscles.
It was a display of raw power one might expect to see from an Olympic gymnast.
Liam is 19 months old.
But this precocious, 22-pound boy with coffee-colored skin, curly hair and washboard abs is far from a typical toddler.

Somewhere in Germany is a baby Superman, born in Berlin with bulging arm and leg muscles. Not yet 5, he can hold seven-pound weights with arms extended, something many adults cannot do. He has muscles twice the size of other kids his age and half their body fat.
DNA testing showed why: The boy has a genetic mutation that boosts muscle growth.

So if a genetic mutation can boost muscle growth, who's to say one won't show up that boosts mental abilities?
Or both?
What if the X-Men isn't that far off?
Or already here?

I've started reading The Power of Your Subconscious Mind by Joseph Murphy.
In it, he says that psychic powers are governed by the subconscious mind.
That would account for why some people can demonstrate them and some can't.
Or why they don't always work.
The Conscious mind interferes, tells you it's impossible.
So what if you can train the conscious mind to think everything is okay and the psychic powers you have are normal?

Of course the Government will jump all over that.
If they already haven't.

What if the Government is already working on using hypnosis and mind altering substances?
Can a real life "Captain America" be that far off?
Or even a whole platoon of them?

Check out "The Men Who Stare at Goats" by Jon Ronson and look up The First Earth Battalion and maybe you wont think such things are so far from the truth.
