A quick look at Google News yields four news stories with Reptilians featured.
Everything from an article about how "Secret services 'must be made more transparent'" to "What will the 2011 Model of UFO Look Like?" contain either references to Reptilians in the article itself or comments about the articles.
Searching for Reptilians on Google yields hits for David Icke, shapeshifting reptilians, greys, reptiles, Illuminati, reptoids, aliens and reptilian agenda, which leads me to believe that these searches aren't being run by children looking for info for school projects.
I know here, just about every article I do on Reptilians goes to the top, or close to the top of the most read pages here.
So people still hold the Reptilians in high regard in the Conspiracy circles.
What is the fascination?
Well I pointed out in an article I wrote elsewhere that Reptilians have figured into science fiction and fantasy lore for a long time.
And that's not even counting early mythology.
The earliest fictional account I could find about Reptilians (on TV) was in 1967, when the British TV show Dr Who introduced the Ice Warriors.
The Ice warriors were reptilian humanoids, but their features were usually hidden under heavy armor.
Then in 1973, Dr. Who introduced the Draconians, a space-faring feudal civilization of reptilian humanoids.
The Draconians in Dr. Who were articulate and had an advanced culture, very much like feudal Japan and they came from the planet Draconia.
Now Draconians are actually listed as a race of reptoids on many websites devoted to Reptilians.
They are even mentioned in the Dulce Wars of 1979-1985.
The "real" Draconians are said to have come from colonies in Alpha Draconis.
But, they originated here on Earth.
By the way, Dr.Who also had another reptilian race of beings known as The Silurians.
They were actually scientifically advanced sentient humanoids who predated the dawn of man.
So they originated on Earth, like the "real" Draconians.
And also the Silurians live underground.
The Silurians debuted in 1970, a full 29 years before David Icke's The Biggest Secret came out.
Icke was born in 1952, so that would have made him about 15 when the Ice Warriors showed up on Dr. Who.
Of course if you really wanna tie Icke's Reptilian Conspiracy to the media, look at the original "V" that debuted in 1983, 16 years before The Biggest Secret came out.

Reptilians Are Still Popular

Reptilian Humanoids, V and the Underground City
The most popular subject on this blog is almost always Reptilian Humanoids conspiracy theories.
I have done several entries on them here, and I even created a Hub about it on Hub Pages that is pretty popular.
So what is it about reptilians that seems to get so much attention?
Well if it is a conspiracy, it's pretty far reaching.
You have reptilians in mythology like Quetzalcoatl (the "feathered serpent" of the Aztecs), the Dragon Kings (from Chinese mythology), The Serpent (from the Bible) and Boreas (or Aquilon to the Romans) the god of the cold north wind.
Cryptozoology is full of reptilian beings like the Loveland Frog and the Lizard Man of Scape Ore Swamp.
Of course reptilians figure in heavily in some ufology and conspiracy theories, especially those of David Icke.
And Sci-Fi, comic books, TV and movies, video games and fiction in general is full of strange reptilian beings, both in space and here on the Earth like "The Race" from Harry Turtledove's Worldwar series, The Visitors from the 1983 and 2009 "V" TV series, Bowser (aka King Koopa) from Nintendo's Mario series, The Lizard (from Spider Man) and Killer Croc from Batman.
So what is it that makes reptilians so popular, especially as villains?
We like Godzilla (okay he's a huge monster, but he's kinda humanoid, just really big) we like The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but those are the only two cases where reptilian creatures are heroes that I can think of.
Is it the primal fear some people have of snakes?
Is it the Bible story that shows a reptilian tricking the human race?
Did the 1983 TV series "V" really kick all this off?
I mean it was popular, but the series only lasted one season.
But it all fairness, "V" must have touched a nerve because since 1984, eighteen novels have been released, an 18-issue V comic book series by DC comics was done, a manga series was produced in Japan and even a PC video game was made.
Well V wasn't the main stream media's first run in with reptilians.
Brian Dunning has suggested that a 1934 Los Angeles Times article may have actually been the origin of the modern day reptilian theory.
The article said that a geophysical mining engineer named G.Warren Shufelt had found subterranean labyrinths beneath Los Angeles that led to an underground city.
The city had been built by an advanced race of “Lizard People” to escape surface catastrophes some 5000 years ago.
You can see the article reprinted here at Reptoids.com:
http://reptoids.com/Vault/Schufeltsearch.htm
They even have the original map there.
It's noteworthy that Shufelt convinced the City of Los Angeles to allow him to dig a tunnel straight down to find the underground city.
The shaft hit 250 feet, but nothing was ever found.
So was there no underground city?
Did they not dig deep enough?
The City of Los Angeles must have gotten tired of it, because on March 5th 1934, the tunnel was filled in and the contract with L.A was canceled.
But the city never came out and said the theory was hog-wash.
As a matter of fact, in December of 1947, Mr. Arche Dunning of the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce made a statement that would suggest no cover up or government conspiracy was at work here.
He said:
"It is quite possible, of course, that the supposed labyrinth really exists. But in view of the fact that the overlaying area is the immediate Civic Center area where an important building program is to be carried out, including federal, state, county and city building, there is little probability of any further excavations."

"V" Versus Barack Obama?
Is the new series "V" an assault on Obama?
It seems a lot of people in the media seem to think so......
"V" Relaunch Intended As Good TV, Not "Frenetic Political Code-Mangling"
"Now, this new series is set to launch, and with it comes the enormous fear that somehow, ABC intends it as covert anti-Obama propaganda. YES, THIS IS A TRUE THING, HAPPENING IN OUR LIVES."
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/11/03/ivi-relaunch-intended-as_n_344288.html
V as an Alien Allegory Attack Against Barack Obama
"ABC's new sci-fi series V kicks off tonight. It concerns a charismatic leader who comes out of nowhere promising a bright future and a better life for all Americans. Is that leader Barack Obama or is it a space lizard?"
http://gawker.com/5396265/v-as-an-alien-allegory-attack-against-barack-obama
'V' aims at Obamamania
Imagine this. At a time of political turmoil, a charismatic, telegenic new leader arrives virtually out of nowhere. He offers a message of hope and reconciliation based on compromise and promises to marshal technology for a better future that will include universal health care.
http://www.chicagotribune.com/entertainment/chi-tc-tvcolumn-v-1102-1103nov03,0,7062976.story
To my knowledge, David Icke is NOT working for ABC.
It doesn't really matter, because V had the best rating for any new series premiere this season.
V downed one of my favorite shows NCIS, (yes I love that show) with just over thirteen million viewers.
And speaking of reptilian shape-shifters.....
Balloon Boy Just Wanted to Warn Us about the Lizard People "According to Balloon boy dad Richard Heene, Hillary Clinton is a shape-shifting reptilian humanoid. You may be surprised to learn that he is not the only one who believes this!"
http://gawker.com/5385015/balloon-boy-just-wanted-to-warn-us-about-the-lizard-people
So because of V are we looking at a new run on Reptilian conspiracy theories?

Embrace change we can believe in...Reptilian Alert?
I was running around surfing sites when I ran across this.
http://www.marvel.com/embracechange/main.html
I know it's a Marvel Comics thing. That's evident.
But it kinda rattled me for several reasons.
1. "Embrace Change"..."Change we can believe in. "
Sound familiar?
2. The site is about Marvel comics characters called Skrulls.
Skrulls are green-skinned reptilian humanoids with large pointed ears and corrugated chins, they were created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1962.
In the new Ultimate Marvel Universe they are known on Earth as the Chitauri.
(Later of course the "real" Skrulls showed up and didn't like being confused with the Chitauri, whom they call "terrorists").
Credo Mutwa, a Zulu shaman, claims that the Zulu people have known of a reptilian species called the Chitauli for centuries.
I'm pretty sure the Marvel writers grabbed a hold of that similarity to give their "myth" a basis in "reality".
3. The video kinda freaks me out and makes me wonder what a "real" disclosure commercial would look like.
The conspiracy nut in me immediately went " Oh my God! They're testing the waters to see how we'll react!" when I watched it.
Okay, I'm not saying that our Commander in Chief is a reptilian.
Or even a reptilian puppet.
And I'm not saying that Marvel Comics is a Reptilian propaganda front.
(Maybe Marvel is trying to warn us. After all, they are the home of Super Heroes....LOL)
But when coincidences like that pile up, I get interested.
Especially when I don't believe in coincidences.

The Biggest Halloween Conspiracy
No, not the "Christians are celebrating a Pagan Holiday" thing again.
The War of the Worlds!
And I mean Orson Welles, not Tom Cruise.
In this information age, it's hard to believe anything like this could take place now.
Imagine all the news broadcasts, internet news, everything reporting an Alien Invasion is taking place.
Not slow and shadowy like David Icke, but big ships crashing and aliens attacking full on.
The military helpless to stop their onslaught.
Okay, it does sound like Project Bluebeam but this was in 1938.
Now it would be called disinformation or a false flag to ready the American people for a real invasion.
Then it was called a Hoax.
But what a hoax it was.
Some listeners heard only a portion of the broadcast, and in the atmosphere of tension and anxiety leading to World War II, took it to be a news broadcast.
Newspapers reported that panic ensued, people fleeing the area, others thinking they could smell poison gas or could see flashes of lightning in the distance.
Convert that to now, tension in the Middle East and Terrorists here.
Could the heightened state of fear lead to a modern day version of Orson Welles 1938 broadcast?
Some people think so.
Imagine not hearing about alien forces, but seeing them. People went nuts listening in 1938, imagine what actually seeing it now would do.
Research Project Bluebeam online and judge for yourself.
Just don't look for it at Wikipedia, the entry was deleted.
Why?
Was it too fanciful? Ridiculous?
Of course that's the reason.
That's why Wiki still has articles about Dulce Base, Reptilian humanoids, the Philadelphia Experiment and the Montauk Project.
I guess THOSE are based in reality huh?
"The truth is out there. You might wanna stay inside."

Reptilian Proof? Part 5
In the Middle East, reptilians ranged from certain Jinn to dragons and serpent-men and have been spoken of since ancient times. In one of the apocryphal books falsely purporting to be the lost Book of Jasher, a serpent race is described.
In the Book of Genesis, God punishes the serpent for tricking Eve into eating the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil by saying, "Upon thy belly thou shalt go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of your life" (Genesis 3:14 KJV). Many have felt this implied that the serpent (a snake or reptile) had legs before then. Thus It is therefore often portrayed in Western art as a humanoid (woman) with a snake's tail, and sometimes lizard-like feet, as in a detail from Bosch's Last Judgement.
In the middle ages down to modern times, the Devil was often conceived as a humanoid with reptilian characteristics, as were demons in general.

There are many who claim that extraterrestrial life exists throughout the universe, and therefore they claim that the Bible must be discredited as a result, due to its implications that physical life was created for the first time on planet earth.
From a Judeo-Christian perspective however, the stars and galaxies would be inhabited by angels, both standing and fallen angels, however physical beings such as humans and animals would NOT have been CREATED on other worlds. For according to the Torah or the Bible , it was God's plan to CREATE man first on EARTH and no where else. That is, planet earth being the "cradle" of all physical life. Yet, as some have said, does one necessarily remain in the "cradle" forever?

Reptilian Proof? Part 4
The Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean and Japanese speak throughout their history of Lóng (Yong in Korean, Ryu in Japanese) or dragons, conceived of in both physical and non-physical forms, but rarely depicted in humanoid form, though they may assume a non-reptilian human form.
In China, Korea and Japan, underwater realms are referred to where the Dragon Kings and their descendants live, as well as a lineage of humans descended from a race of dragons. This lineage was often claimed by East Asian emperors, who were believed to be able to change from human to dragon form at will.
The four Dragon Kings are, in Chinese mythology, the divine rulers of the four seas (each sea corresponds to one of the cardinal directions). Although Dragon Kings appear in their true forms as dragons, they have the ability to shapeshift into human form. The Dragon Kings live in crystal palaces, guarded by shrimp soldiers and crab generals.
" Shrimp soldiers and crab generals" ummmm...are these crystal palaces in Bikini Bottom?
Besides ruling over the aquatic life, the Dragon Kings also manipulate clouds and rain. When enraged, they can flood cities. According to The Short Stories on the Tang People, the Qian Tang Dragon King did just that when he found out his niece had been abused by her husband. Qian Tang also ate the abusive husband.
The Dragon King of the Eastern Sea (Donghai) is said to have the largest territory.
Dragon Kings appeared commonly in literature. Detailed descriptions were given of the finery of their crystal palaces. In the Chinese classical novel Journey to the West, a Dragon King is one of the main characters in the tenth chapter.
These " reptilians " seem to be quite benevolent. Contrary to the stories we hear today.

Reptilian Proof? Part 3
In Indian scriptures and legends, the Naga are reptilian beings said to live underground and interact with human beings on the surface. In some versions, these beings were said to have once lived on a continent in the Indian Ocean that sank beneath the waves. Indian texts also refer to a reptilian race called the "Sarpa". The Syrictæ of India were a legendary tribe of men with snake-like nostrils in place of noses and bandy serpentine legs.
The use of the term nāga is often ambiguous, as the word may also refer, in similar contexts, to one of several human tribes known as or nicknamed "Nāgas"; to elephants; and to ordinary snakes, particularly the King Cobra and the Indian Cobra, the latter of which is still called nāg in Hindi and other languages of India.
The Sciritae or Skiritai were a people subject to Sparta, whose status is comparable to that of the Perioeci. They lived in Skiritis, a mountainous region located in northern Laconia on the border with Arcadia, between the Oenus and the Eurotas rivers. Couldn't find any reference to them being reptilian, outside of UFO lore that is......

Reptilian Proof? Part 1
With all the interest in the Reptilians lately, I thought we'd go back into the past, fact and fiction, and that muddied area in between......
Reptilian humanoids are a common motif in mythology, folklore, science fiction, ufology, and the conspiracy theories of John Rhodes ( BTW, Rhodes is considered the first Reptilian researcher.) and David Icke. They are variously said to be beings that evolved on Earth parallel to mankind, extraterrestrials, supernatural entities, or the remains of a pre-human civilization, and are known by many names, including Snakepeople, Reptoids, dinosauroids, lizardfolk or lizardmen and Chitauri.
Reptilian humanoids of varying depictions have been common in the myths and legends of many cultures throughout history.
Cecrops I, the mythical first King of Athens was half man, half snake. This is illustrated, for example, on a frieze on the Pergamon Altar in Pergamum. In these images from Pergamum, some of which depict gigantomachy, one sees the giant Klyteros with huge serpents between his legs. Boreas (Aquilon to the Romans) was the Greek god of the cold north wind, described by Pausanias as a winged man with serpents between his legs.
(Okay I went back and checked....his top half was shaped like a man and the bottom half in serpent OR fish-tail form. He is also considered MYTHICAL. So we either have a link here to a lizard man, or a fish man. H.P.Lovecraft would be ecstatic.)

David Icke ,part 6
In 1999, David Icke's books were removed from Indigo stores across Ontario, and several venues on his speaking tour were cancelled, after protests from the Canadian Jewish Congress. The University of Toronto allowed his planned speech there to go ahead, despite the presence of 70 protesters, including the Green Party of Ontario, outside the Hart House Theatre. Icke received a standing ovation from the audience after speaking for five hours.
University of Toronto law professor Edward Morgan wrote on September 30, 1999 to the university's president, Robert Pritchard: "Having been involved in a number of the more renowned cases in Canada dealing with hate literature, it is my view that this is precisely the type of vilifying material with which the Supreme Court was concerned in its decision regarding the Criminal Code ban. The publications praise classic anti-Semitic tracts, and are replete with references to a secret society carrying on a global conspiracy led by a manipulating Jewish clique. The material which I have reviewed finds no place in the Canadian marketplace of ideas."
Sumari Communications, which hosted Icke's tour, denied the allegations: "I dispute the anti-Semite issue because the Jewish community has chosen to isolate anti-Semitic quotes in David's books which he himself uses quotes from Jewish authors to prove his theories. No one is forcing these people to be here, but what is important is that they have the choice. It is called freedom and David doesn't even mention the Jews in his talks."
Icke himself addressed the concerns during his speech: "Is this a Jewish plot? No, No, No. Is it a plot? Yes, Yes, Yes. We are being manipulated, and I do not care if you are Jewish, Chinese, Catholic, etc. We are all being manipulated. And those people that are offended by what I have to say, they should choose not to be offended."
Icke lives in Ryde on the Isle of Wight, where he makes occasional public appearances.
In January 2003, he travelled to Brazil, and later talked about having used Ayahuasca: "[It] is a plant – a rain forest plant – which they turn in to what they call a turn and Shaman in South America have been using it for centuries at least to take people into other realms of reality.... I took it twice and it was an experience – particularly on the 2nd night – that completely transformed my view of life. What it did was take my intellectual understanding that the world is an illusion into the realms of knowing it’s an illusion and there’s a difference between intellectually understanding it’s an illusion and this level of knowing it because you’ve experienced it. I got to the age of 50 without taking a single magic mushroom and I never even had one smoke of pot or anything."

David Icke ,part 5
Icke believes that Combat 18 is a front for the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), which in turn is an "Illuminati front." The role of the ADL, he says, is to "brand as anti-Semitic" anyone who gets close to "the truth." In ... And the Truth Shall Set You Free, he wrote: "In Britain, I am told by an extremely reliable source very close to the intelligence organisations that the "far-right" group, Combat 18, is a front for the sinister Anti-Defamation League, the United States arm of the Israeli/Rothschild secret service, Mossad. The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has been operating in Britain and Europe since at least 1991 and its role is to brand as anti-Semitic anyone who is getting close to the truth of what is going on. What better way to discredit an investigator than to have a "far-Right" group like Combat 18 to praise them?"
Icke has strongly denied that his reptiles represent Jews, calling it "friggin' nonsense." "I am not an anti-Semite!", he told The Guardian, "I have a great respect for the Jewish people." He maintains that the reptilians are not human, and therefore not Jewish, but are "extra-dimensional entities" that enter and control human minds. "This is not a Jewish plot. This is not a plot on the world by Jewish people," he told Jon Ronson.
During a question-and-answer session after one of his lectures, Icke told Jones: "I believe that people have a right to believe, to read, and have access to all information, so that they can then make up their own minds what to think. If something is a nonsense, and if something doesn't stand up, it will be shown to be a nonsense in the spotlight of the public arena."
British journalist Louis Theroux, reviewing Jon Ronson's Them: Adventures with Extremists, cautioned against accusing Icke of anti-Semitism: "Icke's 'theory' is basically The Protocols of the Elders of Zion with a new cast and a few script changes. Not surprisingly, Icke has come under suspicion of anti-Semitism.... Not only might it be unfair to Icke, but by implying that he is so dangerous that he has to be censored, the watchdogs are giving a patina of seriousness to ideas that are — let's face it — very, very silly."

David Icke ,part 4
Barkun writes that Icke has "clearly sought to cultivate the extreme right," but that the relationship is tense because of the New Age "baggage" that Icke brings with him. Barkun cites the London Evening Standard, which wrote in 1995 that: "uncanny parallels are emerging between Icke's thoughts ... and the writings of senior figures in the armed militia movement in America." Barkun writes that Icke's relationship with militias and Christian Patriots is complex. On the one hand, Icke believes the Christian patriots to be the only Americans who understand the truth about the New World Order, but on the other, he allegedly told a Christian Patriot group: "I don't know which I dislike more, the world controlled by the Brotherhood, or the one you want to replace it with."
Some of Icke's theories have been controversially attacked by some as anti-Semitic because of his references to a secret elite that rules the world, which includes prominent Jewish banking families, who he says planned the Holocaust and financed Adolf Hitler, and his use of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion. In ... And the Truth Shall Set You Free he wrote:
I strongly believe that a small Jewish clique which has contempt for the mass of Jewish people worked with non-Jews to create the First World War, the Russian Revolution, and the Second World War. This Jewish/non-Jewish Elite used the First World War to secure the Balfour Declaration and the principle of the Jewish State of Israel. They then dominated the Versailles Peace Conference and created the circumstances which made the Second World War inevitable. They financed Hitler to power in 1933 and made the funds available for his rearmament."
In 1995, Alick Bartholomew of Gateway, at that time Icke's publisher, told the London Evening Standard that an early draft of ... And the Truth Shall Set You Free contained "revisionist Holocaust material."
Icke has cited white supremacist, neo-Nazi and other far-right publications in his books. British journalist Simon Jones notes that the bibliography of ... And the Truth Shall Set You Free lists The Spotlight, formerly published by the now-defunct Liberty Lobby, and which Icke calls "excellent," and On Target, published by the Australian League of Rights, which has organized speaking tours for Holocaust denier David Irving. Jones writes: "It's tempting to dismiss David Icke as a confused and ignorant man, manipulated by extremists in order to present their philosophy in a socially acceptable format. But Icke clearly understands the implications of his words."
Mark Honigsbaum has written about the apparent link between the more extreme New Age proponents and the far-right armed militia movement in the U.S. Icke's books contain multiple references to the "Illuminati," which Icke and the militia movement believe constitutes the secret government they call the "New World Order". In 1995, Honigsbaum wrote in the London Evening Standard that Combat 18, the British neo-Nazi group, was publicizing Icke's speaking tour of the UK in its internal magazine, Putsch. The magazine wrote that Icke spoke about "'the sheep' and how the 'illuminati', uses them for its own ends". The story continued: "Icke began to talk about the big conspiracy by a group of bankers, media moguls etc. — always being clever enough not to mention what all these had in common."

UNDERSTANDING THE REPTILIAN MIND
UNDERSTANDING THE REPTILIAN MIND
By James Bartley
The lines have been clearly drawn between those who promote the Draco-Reptilian New World Order and those who have shown by word and deed that they are part of the Resistance. This treatise is dedicated to those stalwart individuals who have made the commitment to resist the draco-reptilian overlordship. I believe within one generation a small percentage of Humans will have broken free from the Reptilian Yoke.
Since the release of my last treatise "Astral Dreamscape Manipulation" several people have contacted me and have provided graphic details of the sexual manipulation and exploitation they endured from the reptilians. They didn't allow personal embarrassment or shame to prevent them from admitting to me that they too had endured the very things which I described in Astral Dreamscape Manipulation. They even shared things which were NOT included in the Astral Dreamscape Manipulation treatise. I wish to thank each and every one of you BRAVE SOULS who have shared your experiences with me. You know who you are.

Draco Reptilians
Since the Draco Conspiracy seems so popular, here's a few links about the Draco Reptilians.
Draco Reptilian discussion at Above Top Secret:
http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread61681/pg1
"According to David Icke reptilian humanoids are the force behind a worldwide conspiracy directed at manipulation and control of humanity. He contends that most of our world's leaders, from George W. Bush to members of the British royal family, are in fact 7-foot tall, blood-drinking reptilians from the star system Alpha Draconia."
